Served in Foreign Service as a code clerk. Served in Dublin, Ireland - See 14 Jan 1936 letter. Letter states he was private secretary to the Minister. Letter has American Legation Dublin, Irish Free State on it.14

Occupationbetween 15 January 1937 and 7 July 1940 United States Embassy, London, England, Transferred from Irish Legation in Dublin, United States Foreign Service to Embassy in England - it appears so that he could receive a raise. Per son, Lyle Henry served in London Embassy during London Blitz. Possibly served in Germany? (not according to foreign service records - he apparently served in the miltary occupation force in Germany in 1921). resigned in July but while in U.S. accepted a position in the Mexiacn Embassy so that his resignation was rescinded.6,17

(Witness) Historybetween 10 July 1940 and 15 September 1940 England, Battle of Britain. Henry and Suzanne left for the U.S. on the 7th so that he missed the official beginning.18 
Occupationbetween 8 August 1940 and 29 April 1941 United States Embassy, Mexico City, Mexico, Transfer, United States Foreign Service. Resigned effective at the expiration of leave on April 29, 1941. Per son, was to be stationed to Haiti in but did not want to serve there. Official correspondence indicates needed to leave Mexico because of breathing problems and that although he initially accepted the Haiti post that he resigned because of health reasons. He left service instead.6,19 
Residence*after 1943 In 1943 worked in Brown shipyards in Houston. In 1944 moved to Des Moines, IA (near the Lyle Jones family). In 1945 bought trailer home. In 1965-68 lived in Florida.20 
Death*25 September 1968 Orange Memorial Hospital, Orlando, Orange Co., FL, Died of cancer in urinary bladder.5
